Monster Sloppy Joe

Make 6 servings

  • 1 lb. ground beef round
  • 1 medium onion, chopped 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 cup refrigerated chopped mixed bell peppers (from 8oz. container)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) fire-roasted dices tomatoes with garlic, undrained
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Dash pepper
  • 6 hamburger buns, split
  • 12 pimento-stuffed green olives
  1. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked. Drain; set aside.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper to skillet; cook 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in cooked beef, tomatoes, ketchup, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  3. Sppon beef mixture onto buns. On top of each bun, place 2 olives to look like eyes; poke toothpick in center of each to hold in place.
